Who Are the Sapta Rishis?

The seven great sages (Sapta Rishis) honored on Rishi Panchami are:
  • Atri
  • Bharadvaja
  • Gautama
  • Jamadagni
  • Kashyapa
  • Vashistha
  • Vishvamitra
These Rishis are revered as eternal guides, the seers of Vedic mantras, and protectors of dharma. Their wisdom forms the foundation of spiritual knowledge, discipline, and moral living.

Discovering Your Own Rishi Through the Birth Chart

Just as every zodiac sign is ruled by a planet, every individual is believed to have a guiding rishi, determined through their Janam Kundli (birth chart).
  • The Nakshatra (birth star) you are born under connects you with a particular Rishi.
  • By analyzing your kundli, an astrologer can identify which Rishi’s blessings and guidance are most closely aligned with your life journey.
  • Honoring your “own rishi” through prayers, meditation, or mantra chanting helps in balancing energies, aligning chakras, and overcoming karmic blockages.
For example, someone born under certain Nakshatras may be connected to Rishi Vashistha (for wisdom and patience), while another may be linked with Rishi Vishvamitra (for courage and transformation).

Our astrologer offers personal kundli analysis to help individuals discover their guiding Rishi and practical remedies to connect with that divine energy.
