Shardiya Navratri is a grand Hindu festival celebrated over nine days in devotion to the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Each day has its own significance, dedicated to one form of the Goddess. The 9th Day of Navratri is considered the most important, as it is devoted to Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth and final form of Goddess Durga.
9th Day of Navratri Date 2025
In 2025, the Shardiya Navratri day 9 falls on 30th September, Tuesday. This day is also known as Navami Tithi and is one of the most sacred days of the entire festival. On this day, many devotees also complete their Navratri fasts and perform Kanya Puja, offering food to child girls and taking their blessings. Navratri day 9 Goddess is Maa Siddhidatri. She is the Goddess who grants all forms of siddhis (spiritual powers and achievements). She is believed to bless her devotees with wisdom, spiritual enlightenment, and prosperity. 9th Day of Navratri Colour
The 9th Day of Navratri colour is purple, which represents ambition, luxury, and peace of mind. Devotees wear purple clothes and offer purple or violet flowers during prayers to the goddess Durga and her ninth form, Mata Siddhidatri. On day 9, devotees wake up early, take a holy bath, and perform puja with complete devotion. Offerings like flowers, fruits, coconut, kumkum, and sweets are made to Maa Siddhidatri. Special rituals such as Kanya Pujan are also performed, where little girls are worshipped and served food like puri, halwa, and chana. Gifts and blessings are also given to them as a mark of respect for divine feminine energy.
During the worship, devotees chant the 9th form of the Goddess mantra which is as follows:
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ सिद्धिदात्री रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः or “ह्रीं क्लीं ऐं सिद्धये नम:” or “ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं सिद्धिदात्र्यै नम.
One can chant this divine mantra on the day 9 of Navratri during their worship for 11, 21 or 108 times, depending on them.
