Every morning, we pray to God and seek His Holy blessings for mental as well as emotional strength all throughout the day. Puja Room is one of the most important rooms in the house. It is that corner of the house, where one attains serenity, peace and tranquility. Did you know in order to obtain fruitful results of your dedicated prayers, it is important to worship God in a room specially built in compliance with Vastu. Below are some effective Vastu tips that can help bring positive vibrations and endless blessings in your residence:

DIRECTION OF THE ROOM

Northeast is an ideal location to build a puja room as it helps deepen prayers & meditation. Strictly, avoid South and Southeast direction as these directions are governed by destructive energies of Yama and Agni respectively. Light a diya (lamp) in the Southeast direction to nullify the destructive effects of these energies.

TOILETS ARE A STRICT NO

Try not to have puja room anywhere closer to the toilets, so as to prevent the negative energies from toilets disrupt the purity and positivity of the room.

SAY ‘YES’ TO WOOD

Use high quality wood for constructing the doors and windows of this pious room as it absorbs negative energies and does not allow them to enter the room. Avoid using metals.

FACE THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Face North, East or Northeast while praying as these directions are recognized as the directions of God. If you meditate often in the puja room, try building a dome-shaped roof for this room as it helps in deep meditation.

PLACEMENT OF THE IDOLS

Idols should also be placed in the Northeast direction. The height of the idols should be less than 2 inches, but not be more than 18 inches. Always place them on a raised platform or singhasana. Also, avoid placing idols from ancient temples in the puja room as along with positive energies, they are the chief dwellers of negative energies.

PAINT IT RIGHT

Use subtle colors such as white or light shades of yellow, blue and violet for the walls of the puja room as these colors symbolize purity, simplicity and divinity.

USE THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHS

Never place photos of your dead ancestors along with the idols of God as it is considered a very bad omen.
